Boiling Point
Interactive Installation
Boiling Point is an interactive video art installation that addresses humanity’s unsustainable water use and the rapid depletion and degradation of natural water reserves. It features a photorealistic glass bucket of water on a large LED screen, which responds to visitor presence.
The installation evolves throughout the day and shifts between two main themes: climate change and water pollution. As visitors approach, the water either boils with increasing intensity, reflecting the impact of man-made global warming, or becomes progressively polluted, representing the consequences of industrial and agricultural contamination. The interactive nature of the artwork encourage visitors to reflect on their own role in our unsustainable water usage.
Boiling Point was commissioned for the BOIL Climate Festival hosted at Serralves Contemporary Art Museum in Porto, Portugal, in September 2024
